Staff at the ProCathedral in Dublin said they got a "huge response" to their appeal for unwanted gifts."There weren't many people in town on New Year's Day, but on Wednesday and Thursday there was an enormous response," said the Very Reverend Damian O'Reilly, administrator at the pro cathedral.

Fr O'Reilly said he had not noticed any colourful Christmas jumpers, but they had received a beautiful fake fur coat that would probably be given to an elderly person.
