Jormungand Vol
If you want to beat Koko Hekmatyar to the punch, you'd better learn to expect the unexpected! Koko and the team finish their business with Mr. Chen and head for Europe where a rival has already starting making inroads with Koko's potential client over the sale of some Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. When Koko finds herself shut out of the deal, she doesn't get mad. She gets even.
The Review!
As the volume opens, we quickly find the arc from last volume coming to a conclusion. Jonah quick thinking and Valmet fighting skill put a swift end to the battle on the mountain, and Koko manages more or less to highjack Scarecrow partner and use her to escape from a dangerous situation.
After a short chapter spent displaying some we find our characters caught up in the politics of death, as Koko clashes with a rival arms dealer named Amalia Torohovsky. Though she presents herself as a nice older woman, Koko soon finds the conniving Torohovsky undercutting all her deals and making a mess of business. With the help of Schokolade, sac louis vuitton, though, Koko manages to turn the situation around and set up a meeting directly with Torohovsky. Realizing how dangerous the woman is, Koko manages to end the conflict by setting up a tenuous friendship with the woman, hoping to avoid further conflict.
In Summary:
Outside of the ending of the arc from last volume, things seem a lot less hectic and a tad more subdued in this volume. As such, we are treated to something a bit different and more focused on the business side of weapons dealing than the last few volumes. Of course, this means that the violence and dark, twisted plot points of previous volumes aren anywhere near as prevalent which is a bit disappointing. Still, this is a solid and interesting read, and actually a nice enough change of pace. Hopefully the frantic action will return next volume, but for now this book remains a fantastic addition to the story that should by no means be ignored. |
